Eskom Solar Rebate
Eskom offers rebates on solar geyser installations. Eskom employ the international best practice model for paying their solar rebates.
NB: Before buying a solar geyser or solar water heating system in South Africa, first ask whether the supplier will claim the rebate on your behalf, or if you will be expected to pay the full price first and then claim from Eskom yourself.
Supplier rebate claims
Eskom Solar Rebate: Make sure your supplier is fully accredited.
We as a supplier of solar water heating systems claim the solar rebate from Eskom South Africa on our client’s behalf. You as the customer cede the rebate amount to us & then and in return you pay a discounted price. We have agreed this with Eskom South Africa upfront and will submit your claims to save you the hassle.
Customer claimed Eskom Rebate
With this option you pay the retail solar geyser installation fee & then claim your solar rebate retroactively directly from Eskom yourself. We generally discourage our customers from following this course of action simply because we have the experience & know-how to facilitate the rebate process as efficiently as possible.
To claim the rebate yourself you will be required to complete a rebate claim form. This

form will be provided by us as your registered installer should you wish to handle the rebate application yourself. It is imperative to note that in order to claim a legitimate (ie. successful) rebate you need to ensure the installation is a registered system and that your supplier is a registered installer.
You and the registered supplier or installer will need to fill out the claim form. Additionally the form needs to be validated/signed by a qualified electrician. You can then hand in the form to a facilitating auditor who handles payments. Finally you are required to post or drop it off the completed, co-signed & audited claim form into a designated Eskom claim form drop-box.
The Eskom Solar Rebate usually pays out within 8 weeks of Eskom’s receipt of the completed paperwork.
